Junior Construction Project Manager

We have an immediate opening for a Construction Project Manager in our Ottawa office. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of project management and contract administration for mechanical and electrical building systems on institutional projects of varying scale, including large and complex developments.

Our construction project management team provides critical professional representation to clients throughout the construction process. Responsibilities include attending site meetings, monitoring construction progress, reviewing work for compliance with contract documents, preparing inspection reports, and responding to requests for information. The ideal candidate will have experience with construction practices, materials, and methods, along with a strong understanding of construction drawings, contracts, and supplementary documents. Experience with mechanical or electrical building systems is required, and a background in the skilled trades (plumbing or electrical) is considered an asset. Proficiency with standard office software applications is also required.

Salary range: $45,000 - $80,000

    We have an immediate opening for a Mechanical Designer with a minimum of 10 years of experience in our Ottawa office. The successful candidate will be involved in the design of mechanical building systems, including plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection.

    Responsibilities include preparing mechanical drawings, schematics, and details using AutoCAD and/or Revit; coordinating with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain technical information and budget pricing; and supporting the development of specifications. The role also includes participating in site investigations to verify existing conditions, take measurements, and document findings.

    The successful candidate will support project delivery during construction by responding to requests for information from the contract administration team and reviewing shop drawings.

    The ideal candidate will have experience with construction practices, materials, and methods, along with a strong understanding of construction drawings, contracts, and supplementary documents. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is required. Familiarity with electrical building systems is considered an asset. Proficiency with standard office software applications is also required.

    Intermediate Mechanical Engineer

    We have an immediate opening for a Senior/Intermediate Mechanical Engineer in our London office. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting and leading project teams with all aspects of the design of mechanical systems for health care, institutional, industrial and commercial buildings, including: HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, medical gases, sustainability, etc. You will have responsibility for performing design calculations, selecting equipment, and to guide the CAD staff and assist in the development of CAD design drawings.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare mechanical design drawings, schematics, and details
  • Participate in site investigations to confirm existing conditions, take measurements, and document installed equipment/systems
  • Coordinate with suppliers to obtain information and quotes. Generate specifications for equipment required on the project.
  • Manage, prioritize, and complete projects for various clients simultaneously
  • Coordinate with multi-discipline design teams and sub-consultants to ensure drawing integrity and completeness
  • Support project delivery through construction: respond to contractor RFIs and technical inquiries, review shop drawings (as assigned), attend site visits and coordinate with contractors and stakeholders
  • Contribute to technical documentation, drawing standards, and internal coordination processes
  • Assist with business development


    Skills and Qualifications:

  • 10 to 15 years relevant work experience related to building systems
  • Professional Engineer Designation in Ontario
  • A valid driver license
  • Knowledge of Canadian engineering standards
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit (beneficial)
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
  • Understanding of bid and tendering processes including CCDC
  • Experience completing site investigations and construction review
  • Analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Ability to work in a team and independently
  • Self starter with excellent communication skills
  • Able to communicate ideas and recommendations to non-engineer team members in a clear manner

The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the design of electrical building services for health care, institutional, and commercial buildings. Relevant experience should include exposure to fire protection and/or lighting, fire alarm, power and communications systems. Experience with AutoCAD and Revit is required.
